This is a traditional piece I created prompted by an assignment to depict a fear of yours in a piece of art. This is a self portrait, and I knew I wanted to do a piece representing Misophonia--a phenomenon that can occur in people that makes them have strong emotional or even physical reactions to certain everyday sounds. In my experience, squeaks, scrapes, cracks, and particularly loud chewing noises drive me crazy--but I didn't realize it was crazier than normal until I found out it apparently doesn't fill most people with such intense discomfort or fear that they can't help but twitch, tense up, or try to drown out the sound! So thus, this spooky piece was born. (Marked as mature content because there's some nasty teeth and scars and stuff...kinda creepy!)
This was done in ink and layered alcohol markers.
