About Me
Hi, I'm Ryan Jean. I'm a multimedia artist focusing primarily on 3D Animation, 3D Character creation, and Illustration. I'm a writer, a musician, a gamer, a polyglot, and a hopeless caffeine addict.
The two most important things you need to know about me is that I think people are incredible, and I believe in magic. I've spent a decade of my life studying languages with the goal of being able to talk to as many people on earth as I possibly can--there's 8 billion people on earth, and that's 8 billion potential friends. I'll get there someday.
What I love most about humans is that we love stories full of magic, or sci-fi futures where technology and culture are richer than ever. Stories with strong heroes, kind families, incredible visions of what we long to be. I think there's something really important about why we love it. We seek escapism in those stories because they show us a world we know we can create--they are just direct reflections of us. We can be kind and strong and powerful--and we seek those stories out because secretly, we know that's who we are. Once you realize that, the magic in those worlds is suddenly not so far away. That's how I know who I am. I need to help people realize that magic.
I'm currently studying at the School of Visual Arts in pursuit of a BFA 3D Animation & VFX degree. I'm thankful for the awesome people I've met here. I work as a lab assistant within our department, dedicating my time to helping those around me and taking care of our technology. I've had the wonderful opportunity to speak at the Q&A panels hosted by my department, in which I was invited to speak to rising students about pursuing a degree in 3D Art.
My workflow tends to be ambitious--I'm not afraid of what I've never tried yet. When I set my sights on a project, I believe in breaking things down and giving everything my best shot. Make it exist first, and make it perfect later. Collaboration, organization, and ambition is the name of the game for me.
Other than that, I love my brother and sister, my parents, my friends, my pet parakeet. I believe in being kind and shooting for the stars. I want to create with you. I think that's all.
